Do you avoid drawing faces because it’s too hard, because the eyes are too big, the mouth too wide, or the nose looks flat? When you spend a lot of time drawing and refining a face, you get precious about it – in other words, you are afraid to go to the next step because you might ruin it. I’ve been there many times, which is why I had to find a way to get past “holding on” and “start moving forward” in my art journey. Can you relate?
In this course, we let go of “precious” and hours of hard work spent trying to make it look awesome at the start. We start thinking about the sketch as a foundation for painting, mixed media and other art projects, not something to be finalized before we start painting.
The course is one 15 minute comprehensive lesson that you will want to practice over and over. I teach composition (where to place the face on the page), key measurements for facial features (what goes where and how to size), and when to let go and move to painting.
Note: If you want to sketch and paint, take the Pink Lady course instead. It includes this sketch course free.
